How to prepare your tracks for mixing:

  • if you know it, write down the tempo of the song (e.g. 96 BPM)
  • clean up, edit and fade all audio clips in your session
  • if you have one, export the latest mix or a rough mix of the track for reference 
  • export all tracks that should be mixed in 24 or 32 Bit format from the same starting point (ideally from 1 bar before the first beat of the song)
  • export the tracks 
  • name your tracks (e.g. "BD, SN, Bass, Synth, Piano, LeadVocal, DoubleVocal,  VocalHarmony, Strings, etc.)
  • send the files via wetransfer.com or a similar service of your choice to:
    mail@kevmix.com

Accepted File Formats:

  • .WAV or .AIF - audio files with 32/24/16 Bit @ 44.1k / 48k / 88.2k or 96k
  • up to 96* tracks (mono or stereo)
  • complete session files of the song for Protools 7/8/9/10/11 or 12

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR SONGS FOR MASTERING

  • export your final mix of the song without any of the following processing:
    - Limiter or Brickwall-Limiter
    - Dithering
    - any sort of mastering compression or mastering equalization
  • if a mixbuss-compressor was used during the mix of the song leave it on
  • export your song with a few seconds of silence before and after the start/end 
  • make shure that your song is not clipping during export (leave enough headroom)
  • export your song with 32 or 24 Bit
  • name the file (e.g. "Artist - Song Title - Final Mix - 24 Bit - 44.1kHz)
  • send the files via wetransfer.com or a similar service of your choice to:
    mail@kevmix.com
